thankful for... polka dots

I love combining these two pieces.
My newest color palette favorites are peach, nude and my old steady, teal.
I wasn't always a fan of polka dots but they are growing on me. Slowly but surely.

It has been a very eventful week around our parts in a bittersweet kind of way but I am happy to have James home with me. Being able to really live together after "technically" living together for over a year will be a welcome change. Life loves to throw us curveballs but we have a couple curveballs to send back. I feel like our little life we've been building can actually START for lack of a better description.

So this week I'm thankful.
Thankful for having James home.
Thankful for my job.
Thankful for my car.
Thankful for the wonderful friends I've made this year.
Thankful for "family" dinners.
Thankful for car rides to work in the HOV lane. (I'm a true NOVAn.)
Thankful for our families.
Thankful for our dreams.
Thankful for our plans.
Thankful for James, period.
Thankful to call this my life.

Every moment up until now has prepared me for this day and everyday I learn something new to prepare me for the next. Life has a funny way of working out for the best and so the most important thing I am thankful for is blessings in disguise. They ride in with shocking force and create lots of waves but then dust settles. You'll find a light at the end of the tunnel that you got so sidetracked from you'd forgotten it was even there.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. I love the sublteness of the polka dots on your blouse - and the colors are so gorgeous! Also, I've never been a huge fan of the solid color closed toe wedges but these are CUTE!
