I grew up in the desert. The blistering heat, dry air, freezing winter winds and once in a blue-moon-snow kinda desert. So naturally, my definition of winter has needed a couple revisions since our relocation to the east coast. While I love the sight of snow and all of the magic it brings to mind, the reality of actual snow is just so foreign to me. I'm still getting used to the idea of living with it but Virginia is not being very helpful. There just isn't any snow! So for now, I will just gaze and awe at beautiful photos and make moodboards to dream about :)

first frost

It's been a couple days since I took these photos but I really wanted to share them with you. I'm sure frost and ice is a normal occurrence for most but Thursday, December 1st truly marked my first day of real winter. I about froze taking these pictures. I'm beginning to realize I need to hurry up and make that beanie and gloves because it is getting CHILLY fast!



I hope the snow doesn't show up too soon. Maybe we'll come home to New Year's snow in January. You never know! Either way it wont be a White Christmas for us this year...
