yes, one of my nicknames is UFO and I have a shirt to prove it

I tend to be very closed lip about my feelings when it comes to social media. You can ask my "facebook" friends... I could be dead and no one would notice. Ever since I started blogging I kind of hate Facebook now. I'll be honest, it is strictly entertainment and updates from Las Vegas. haha

I have always aired on the side of caution. Extreme caution. It is one of the many things that has always been so very me. Today I am breaking away from that for a minute because I just simply cannot find a reason not to write this.

James, this is a little message just for you because I can't stop thinking about you...

You are amazing and wonderful in the best ways imaginable. My stomach drops everytime I see a cute couple in a photo or read romantic love stories because I know that I have mine. You are my love story and I wouldn't change a thing.

We are two weird peas in our crazy little pod, it's fantastic. I thank my lucky stars for you everyday even though you away a lot. I know that this situation may not always be ideal but I appreciate you and the time we have together so much more because of it. Everyday that you are gone my heart gets a little bit bigger to make room for the extra love I'm stockpiling for when you return. You are the best friend I never had and I look forward to all of the living room slumber parties, cooking dates, Virginia adventures, new traditions, house projects, giggle fits, ridiculous sayings, horrendous nicknames (that I make up for you... I'm sorry in advance) and the many, many memories we will make together in the future.

Moving across country has been the hardest thing we have ever done and by far the greatest experience of my life. Sharing my life with you was easiest decision I ever made and I still giggle when I remember that you thought I wouldn't come with you. Thank you so much for finding me on that ridiculous wonderful site called I swear I forget that we met that way sometimes. I just chalk it up to that gushy feeling that I've known you all my life. I want you to know that I will spend every day making sure that I know you for the rest of it.

I love you. I cannot even explain with words how much I do. Thank you so much for being there for me no matter what. It means so much more to me than you could ever know. You really are a dream come true :)

With sappy goodness,

Your little UFO (among many other wacky nicknames I have accumulated over the last 18 months)

*James, I know it may take a couple days before you find out about this posts existence and read it but I love when you find my little surprises. I like to think they make you as happy as you make me :) And yes, I cried writing this. Go ahead and giggle, I know you want to!

If you have made it this far and your name isn't James, thank you for reading! I am working on being a bit more open around these here parts. Because, well, I think it is good for me. I think being able to write about some of the things that I am dealing with and connect with people who may be going through the same thing is healthy. Being in Virginia is lovely but I am very secluded and it does get lonely when James is away (which can be more often that either of us like). So if you live nearby we should get in touch! Even if you don't live nearby we should get in touch! Friends are always found in the most unexpected places :)

  1. This was totally adorable :) Congratulations on finding someone who completes you, and I wish you guys all the best.

  2. Aww that was really sweet! I love reading about anyone who's found their soul mate!!
I've made a similar move this year and can totally relate.. My other half doesn't have to go away for work but he does have crazy shifts and some weeks it feels like we hardly see eachother and I get so lonely in a little town where I dont know too many people..
Your man is going to be so happy when he reads this :)

  3. So cute! I'm so glad I found your blog and even more happy that this was the first post I got to read <3 You guys are adorable and I love nothing more than a sweet love story!

    A Sweet Release

  4. awww Hannah this is precious and I'm sure James will absolutely love reading this when he finds out :) - I like to surprise my Justin a lot too :)

  5. Hannah, this put the biggest smile on my face and just made my heart swoon. I'm so happy for you & James & that you have found each other!

I am also not very open when it comes to social media and I am guarded as well. Maybe I need to take your lead & start expressing myself a little bit farther than I do now.

Also, I moved to a brand new place not too long ago and I know the feeling of being secluded. I've never been very good at meeting new people, I'm too much of an introvert. That is why I feel fortunate to have blogging friends, like yourself, that I can relate to.

  6. So sweet! A lot of what you read are things that I feel about Aaron. It is incredible to have such strong feelings about someone. *^_^*

Hurray for anniversaries on the 17th! There should be an elite club for it, or something. xD

Also, I am not a fan of facebook either. It came out while all my friends were in college and I was not. So I felt totally left out and decided that FB didn't need me. lol! Even since it has opened up to everyone, I haven't joined. (I'm totally stubborn) I have Twitter, Ravelry, and now Google+, so I don't need another social networking site.

Have a great day! How is that sewing machine coming along? It's so gorgeous in your IG pictures.

  7. Hey sweets,

This was quite endearing and very respectable. Open up the gates to your feelings; this blog is your little space to do just that, and I don't mind getting to know you a little bit more :)

    Much love,

  8. adorable post. :)

  9. So cute hun. Piccies and words.
You know how much I lovebarf all over P on my blog, and I think sometimes you just have to get it out or it will drive you crazy! :D
As someone else who found the love of their life via the internet, I know it can sometimes feel so unreal when you think about all the things that might not have happened, and how lucky you are that they clicked on your face, read your profile and managed to see that little spark (or more likely... our super hotness...!)
I find myself a little in awe of fate and how wonderfully things turned out.
After rambling main point is.. Lovebarf away, because PDA is OK!

  10. Not a blogger, but James's mom. Our family is so lucky that you two found each other. Thanks Hannah, for loving my son. You are beautiful!

  11. Aww, Hannah this was such a delight to read! Sometimes when you're around your partner all the time you can take them for granted. I don't spend a lot of time with my husband because he works almost 12 hour days. So when we see each other its all that more special. I've been making more of an effort not to take Luke for granted.

    Super cute post!
